Tron Alfa 8C 2300 Zagato Panoramica 1949
For a number of years Ilario Vecchiato (IV Model) has announced to make the special Alfa 6C 2500SS Panoramica Zagato in 1:43.
This has not happened sofar.
Angelo Tron took over the idea and on the december Hobby Model Show in Novegro Milano he showed the first model.
After worldwar 2 Zagato used bended plexiglas in their design, that resulted in 1948 Panoramica coupés range for the Fiat 1100, Ferrari 166, Alfa 6C 1750 and
this 1949 Alfa corto (despite the long bonnet). At Zagato Fabio Luigi Rapi likely was the designer.
From the book by Simon Moore “the legendary 2.3” it became clear that a 6C 2500SS chassis was not used, only the 6C differential and rear axle.
The engine in the Panoramica was a 8C 2300 #221114, that originated from a Monza Scuderia Ferrari and was used later by Scuderia Maremmana.
Atelier Studio Zagato adjusted the description to
8C 2300 Corto Panoramica 1949.
Charles Puricelli from Busto Arsizio (Varese) was the first owner with a VA 24297 licenseplate. After various owners the Zagato landed in Malaysia.
Carlo Vigano crashed the car in the GP Johore in 1953. The no81 coupé, owned by R.Wise, was destroyed. The picture of the crash in the book by Simon Moore
confirms the 8C 2300 carter and 8C oiltank next to the gearbox.
Tron decided to use a champagne colour on the resin model, based upon the drawing on the Atelier Studio Zagato site.
