Le Alfa 33 in gara e in miniatura

I'll look at the book when I see it on a shelf. Meanwhile, I have been through my period magazines, and indeed the point remains obscure.

- on the Sport Moteur cover, there is the supposed last picture of Luciano at the wheel of the 33. To me it's a short tail, because we see no fins. Now, is it really a Sunday morning picture, or(one of) the last on Saturday?

- in the reports, stories conflict about either Zeccoli or Bianchi himself having experienced the loss of the rear bonnet on Saturday. Anyway, it seems that the incident indeed caused Luciano to drive a short-tailed car on Saturday afternoon.

Then, the most comprehensive reports can be found in Autosprint: they are positive that the long tail had been refitted on Sunday and secured strongly, because mechanics were not supposed to get to the engine often in the test program. The tale of another bonnet loss was aired by a French radio, as reported. Yet the analysis of the crash may fit with the idea that aero lift would have unbalanced the car on the bump at the end of the straight, just before the crash spot.

The pictures of the wreck in Autosprint do not show anything like a body part, only mechanicals here and there (steering wheel on the ground, one wheel here, engine 50 m further, etc.).

And nowhere is there a picture showing the long tail.
